Your Way to Health will bring any program right to your door, your school or your organization.  You provide the meeting place and the group.  Your Way to Health will provide the presentation, workshop or small group health coaching program (see "Programs and Pricing" page for health coaching options) to meet your group’s needs.

  • Mindful Eating for Weight Loss - This 4-session mini class explores mindful eating strategies and how, when incorporated into your lifestyle with fidelity, they can be used as a weight loss strategy. This will be small group and will include a week of preparation followed by two full weeks of eating mindfully for weight loss with built in check in/troubleshooting sessions. Not Available as a four-hour presentation

 

  • "Let's Get Moving!" – This 5-session mini class combines “Water and You!”, “Let's Get Moving!”, “Exercise and You! The Basics”, “Fitness Tracking and Motivators” and Strategies for Not Ruining the Benefits of a Workout - What to eat before and after” into one cohesive program that examines the reasons for becoming more active and provides strategies to help you increase your activity level.

 

  • Ten Day Sugar Detox - Do you crave sugar and carbs? Then this mini course is for you! This is a four-session mini class designed to help you prepare for and complete a ten-day sugar detox using real, whole foods. Daily support will be provided via text. Handouts including lists of allowable foods, menu ideas and tasty recipes will be provided. Post detox guidance is included to support reintroduction of food categories not allowed during the ten-day period. Not Available as a four-hour presentation

 

  • "Going Plant Based for a Healthier YOU!" - This 3-session mini class will explore the advantages of plant-based eating. It doesn't have to be "all or none"! You choose how plant based you want to be. Learn the ins and outs of a whole food, plant-based diet and see what works for you.

 

  • Simple Healthy Habits for Super Busy People - This 4-session mini class focuses on living a healthy lifestyle even when you’re super busy. You’ll learn food and nutrition strategies (including prepping ahead), strategies for getting regular exercise, ways to manage stress and strategies for getting the sleep you need.

 

  • “Good Night, Sleep Tight” – This 4-session mini class explores the health benefits of good quality sleep. It combines “Sleep and Your Health”, “How Did You Sleep Last Night?”, “How Much Sleep Do I Need and How Do I Get It?” and “Creating a Blissful Bedroom”.

 

Two Hour Interactive Personalized Programs

  • Pantry Purge – Kathy will come to your home and help you seek out and get rid of the unhealthy food items that are lurking in your kitchen. You will learn what ingredients to avoid when food shopping in order to have healthy food choices available at all times.

  • Savvy (Food) Shopper – This interactive program will have you shopping with savviness in no time. Kathy will meet you at the grocery store of your choice and show you how best to navigate so you leave with a healthy cart of food.

  • Farm to Table – Fresh food is healthy food! Explore your local farmers market and see what’s fresh and available! Kathy, a year-round farmers market advocate, will meet you at the market of your choice and explore its many, and often diverse, options. Local markets offer much more than lettuce and tomatoes!

“Pick Six” is a new personalized offering from Your Way to Health RI. If you want to eat healthier meals at home but don’t know where to start this could be the program for you! Each recipe has no more than 6 main ingredients. Pick six recipes from our list that you’d like to incorporate into your lifestyle and Kathy will come to your home and teach you how to make them. (You may come to Your Way to Health RI if you prefer.)  All meals have vegetarian options.

  • Healthy Families - a 12 session program designed to guide you in making lifestyle changes so that everyone in your family is healthier in a well-rounded way. Overall health is achieved through the food we eat, how we spend our time and how often and how much we move our bodies. You'll learn strategies for healthier eating, how to build healthier immune systems through diet, how to balance how kids and adults spend time and the enormous roles good sleep, decreased stress and being active plays in overall health for all age groups.

 

  • Healthy Family Eating - a 12 session program designed to guide you in feeding your family healthy meals and snacks.  It will provide you with the tools and knowledge you need to provide simple, but nutritious food choices every day.  You will learn the building blocks of every good meal and snack, how to build healthier immune systems through diet and will be given strategies and suggested items to "rebuild" your pantry, fridge and freezer with healthy, cost conscious foods and ingredients so that you have what you need to create simple, healthy snacks and meals. Overall, you'll learn that eating healthy doesn't have to be expensive, difficult or time consuming and leads to generally better health, which means fewer colds, "bugs" and lost work and school days.

  • “Recipe for Healthy Kids” – Provides strategies for feeding your kids healthier snacks and meals.  Session topics are: Health Statistics – Today’s Youth, Fat, Carbohydrates and Protein, Healthy, Kid Friendly Food Swaps, Kids in the Kitchen and Healthy, Kid Friendly Recipes.

  • “Recipe for a Healthy Family” – Provides strategies for food shopping and feeding your family healthier snacks and meals. Building ME! - Our Healthy Kids Programs

Great for birthday parties, after school programs or other children's groups!

All have hands-on components and are one-hour sessions, unless otherwise noted.

  • Eating the Rainbow (V) (kids learn about the importance of including fruits and vegetables in their diet and make fruit kabobs) 

  • Belly Bugs (V) (kids learn about prebiotics and probiotics and make tasty, organic yogurt parfaits)

  • Very Berry Breakfast Bowls (V, E) – (kids learn about the importance of starting the day in a healthy way and make acai based breakfast/snack bowls – fun to make and packed with nutrition and flavor!

  • Banana Breakfast Boats (V) – (choose from a focus on the importance of eating a healthy breakfast of the macronutrients – kids will make and enjoy fun banana “boats” - a healthy, grab and go breakfast option)

  • Dip It! (V, E) (kids love to dip their food - this introduces them to tasty (and healthy) dips that they make and sample)

  • Meet the Macs (V) kids learn about the macronutrients; fats, carbohydrates and proteins, and make trail mix)

  • Let's Get Moving! ($110.00 up to 10 participants) (kids learn the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle and participate in some fun, active games)

  • Water and You! (V) (kids learn about the importance of drinking water, calculate the amount of water needed daily based on their size and sample a variety of naturally flavored water options along with high water content fruits)

  • Energy Bites! (V) (kids learn about the macronutrients and the importance of choosing healthy snacks and make No-Bake Energy Bites (can be done nut-free)

  • Pizza Party! (V) (kids learn the importance of including foods from different categories into a meal by exploring what a healthy plate looks like and make mini whole grain dough pizzas to bake at home)

  • Jump Ropes and Hula Hoops ($110.00 up to 10 participants) (kids learn about the importance of an active lifestyle and some ways to be active with and without relying on other people.  They will have the opportunity to play with jump ropes, hula hoops etc.)

  • Snack Attack! (V) (kids learn about the macronutrients and the importance of choosing healthy snacks and make some easy, healthy snack foods to try)

  • Smoothies Rule! (V, K/sink only, E) (kids learn about making healthy food choices and choose the ingredients to go into their own, personalized yogurt-based smoothie).

  • How Does Your Garden Grow? (kids learn about how plants grow and plant seeds to bring home - seeds will vary based on season)

  • The Power of Yet! ($110.00 up to 10 participants) (teaching growth mindset to kids) ​

  • I Can Do Anything! (kids learn that we all get stressed, some simple ways to manage stress and make worry stones)

  • My Magical Mind! (kids learn about mindfulness and how it can help them in day to day situations)

  • Tapping for Today and Tomorrow! ($110.00 up to 10 participants) (kids learn the basics of tapping and how to use is to relieve stress and anxiety and to support them as they work through challenging situations - a sensory strategy for now and the future!)
